The bar and dining room at St. John are both available for private hire, either individually or as a whole.

We can accomodate up to 110 guests for a formal 'sit down' lunch or supper in the dining room or around 200 for a  less formal style of dining.

St. John has been used to great success as a venue for wedding receptions, launches and other corporate events as well as less formal lunches and suppers.

Menus are arranged individually and can be tailored to your requirements whilst still retaining the essence of nose to tail eating. Our feasting menus will give you some idea of the nature of dishes offered to larger groups but if there is something specific you would like for your function and provided seasons allow, we will happy structure a menu around it for you.

If you or your guests require accomodation before or after your reception do let us know, we may be able to assist with discounted rates at certain local hotels.

Whilst St. John is not an event caterer per se, we do have reputable contacts for the arrangement of flowers, sound systems and DJ's and will happily assist in arranging car hire.

Our bar can cater for up to 100 guests for drinks and canapes or suckling pig buns (see the bar page for more information on bar party food) and is licensed to serve until midnight.
